Dear Dorfman Pacific / Milano Associates,
I hope that you and your families are doing well during these extraordinary times. The coronavirus pandemic and its impact is more than we would have expected to endure. Nonetheless, recent events remind us that we have additional challenges. These past few days have been reflective ones for all of us. The senseless killing of George Floyd was appalling to watch and emotional to reflect on.
I’ve struggled with eloquent words to share … and how … or even if they should be shared. After deep reflection, conversation with others, and emotional moments alone, I feel compelled. I’ll keep it simple, brief, and heartfelt.
Not all of our personal experiences are the same. Many of us feel excluded. Worse, many experience the reality of being singled out and threatened unjustly. That is unacceptable, and we need to work broadly to change that reality.
At Dorfman Pacific Milano, I want you to know that your uniqueness and our diversity is valued. Our people (You) are our number one asset. In the midst of these dynamic, complex, and emotional times, let’s be a community that stands together, supports one another, embraces our diversity, elevates our dialog about these matters, and is active in making the future a brighter one … for everyone.

Espero que a usted y a sus familias les vaya bien durante estos tiempos extraordinarios. La pandemia de coronavirus y su impacto es más de lo que hubiéramos esperado. No obstante, los acontecimientos recientes nos recuerdan que tenemos desafíos adicionales. Estos últimos días han sido reflexivos para todos nosotros. El asesinato sin sentido de George Floyd fue espantoso de ver y emocional de reflexionar.
He luchado con palabras elocuentes para compartir ... y cómo ... o incluso si deben ser compartidos. Después de una profunda reflexión, conversación con los demás y momentos emocionales solos, me siento obligado. Lo mantendré simple, breve y sincero.
No todas nuestras experiencias personales son iguales. Muchos de nosotros nos sentimos excluidos. Peor aún, muchos experimentan la realidad de ser señalados y amenazados injustamente. Eso es inaceptable, y tenemos que trabajar ampliamente para cambiar esa realidad.
En Dorfman Pacific Milano, quiero que sepa que su singularidad y nuestra diversidad son valoradas. Nuestra gente (usted) es nuestro activo número uno. En medio de estos tiempos dinámicos, complejos y emocionales, seamos una comunidad que se mantenga unida, se apoye mutuamente, abrace nuestra diversidad, eleve nuestro diálogo sobre estos asuntos y sea activa para hacer del futuro uno más brillante... para todos.
